The final play of our 2009/10 season sees Chekhov's classic social comedy reconfigured by one of Scotland's most loved writers.

John Byrne has relocated this story (of a once-grand family brought low by changing fortunes) to the north east of Scotland. In doing so he has added a fascinating new dimension to Chekhov's already brilliant tale.

Don't miss this world première production when it plays here at the Lyceum this spring!

LYT presents... Mugged

by Andrew Payne
12-13 March
Book online now

“How do you tell the truth? About what actually happened? You know, tell the actual truth?”

Today is a good day for Marky – he’s invented the chocolate cola milkshake (and persuaded Dig to drink it), bagsied the best bench (before all his mates) and acquired a pack of cigarettes (to woo Soph with).

But the day soon takes a devastating dive and a seemingly straightforward crime becomes increasingly confused.

Lyceum Youth Theatre brings you a very real, very vivid story about finding the truth in every lie, about friendship, tough choices and chocolate milkshakes.

Mugged is performed 12–13 March 2010 at Stewarts Melville College Performing Arts Centre and as part of the Lyceum Connect Festival on 11 June 2010.
